There is no pest that most evoked the antipathy of many, a pest that damaged and killed many lives none other the mosquito. A type of insect that is small in size but has a global damage from the past and until now. One that hurts the society, economy and industrial revolution. Has massive bad effects among these branches that we have now because of the diseases which plague many of us.
When it talks about society, there is a health risk for every individual because mosquitoes carry deadly diseases which can be easily transmitted.
However, the problem is, it is hard for us to stop them doing it because we cannot easily catch and kill mosquitoes, their advantage is that they are tiny in size and has the ability to cloak in the environment.
When mosquitoes bite, they use their mouth’s 6 needles that have different functions it is why mosquitoes can suck their food easily and quickly. The bad part of it is that they sometimes deliver viruses or parasites unaware to their victim.
The most common disease that mosquitoes transmit is malaria on which they insert parasites to their victim and dengue that weakens the immune system of the host, lowers the platelet count which causes bleeding that leads to death.
Did you know that only the female mosquitoes only bite a human. It’s because females need sufficient nutrients for giving birth which can be found in blood.
However, when it talks about the economy, mosquitoes weakens the manpower because of the transmission of disease to workers that makes them sick, mosquitoes also make the poor, poorer because of the expensive hospitalization for the patient accompanied by medicines.
If we will gist the thought about it, we may now conclude that mosquitoes badly shrink our economy.
And lastly, in the industrial revolution, mosquitoes slows the speed of the progressive technology innovations.
It slows the invention of new methodologies in manufacturing processes that cause a slow and semi-productive development.
We cannot deny the fact that mosquitoes bring bad things to us. A straightforward and a must action is necessary to lessen or stop the plague.
If we neglect, direct consequences will appear, lost of many lives, and slow progress of economy will get its way through. So, what are the methods to control and eliminate the needle-like creatures? Here, I’m going to summarize it:
1. Do not hesitate to throw standing waters
Female mosquitoes naturally lay their eggs in water. The larvae are aquatic, it is their natural habitat, they live and gets their food in water to sustain their lives.
If there is a standing water in your house, in its vicinity or in your community, do not hesitate to throw it on the ground because it might be the perfect home for mosquitoes’ larvae.
The reason why it is needed to be thrown on the ground and not in rivers, canals or any bodies of waters is that they can still survive on it and they are happy to migrate to another home.
Mosquitoes can produce many eggs that’s why if you notice a standing water there are plenty or larvae which do move, happy to play and have fun with their siblings.
So, if there is still a chance, if there is standing water with mosquitoes’ eggs or larvae in it, throw it away, before it can achieve its adult stage and can cause to harm people.
2. Set-up mosquito repellants
Mosquitoes came from various places. At most time, we do not know where they came from.
Even if your house is clean, there will be some mosquitoes that will try to enter your house because they are eager to seek for their meal.
Repelling those zealous mosquitoes is a must. You can either use homemade or commercial mosquito repellants.
For homemade repellants, you can use citronella candles which is in enclosed space, plants like lavender, marigold and can put also camphor tablets dissolved in water on which you can put anywhere in your house.
For commercial repellants, you can use electric and non-electric types.
Additional tips:
Cover the windows of your house with plastic or metal screen with just tiny holes to allow the fresh air to flow inside your house while disallowing the mosquitoes to enter inside.
In your bedroom, you can use a mosquito net.
3. Use Mosquito killers
The most effective thing to lessen or deprived the count of mosquitoes is to kill them by using mosquito killers.
It is up to you of what kind of trap you are going to use if it is pesticides or electric zappers like ultraviolet mosquito zappers (attracting the mosquitoes to go near the ultraviolet light and when it made a contact in the high voltage screen, instant death will occur).
However, it’s up to you, of what type fits you the best because both are effective.
To summarize on how to get rid of mosquitoes:
1. Do not hesitate to throw standing waters
2. Set-up mosquito repellants
3. Use Mosquito killers

You must be consistent in practicing these methods in your house to maintain the less count and until your house become free of mosquitoes.
